Claire had a surprise organised for us - a night at Europe's biggest water park resort. Located in Kusadasi it turned into a weekend of fun and history as Sunday provides the opportunity for us to visit Ephesus.
We hired a 'pimp mobile' (required a conv between G & C to explain what a pimp mobile was - G did a very impressive job!) to fit us all in and also so we had air con. A necessity to travel 4 hrs in 36deg :-)
The drive today provided a great opportunity to see some gorgeous countryside. We saw the Gulf of Gokova, Mulga, Aydin and Selcuk along the way with lots of olive groves, corn, oranges, fruit stalls, stuffed animal sellers, amazing rock formations and sea views.
We stopped at one of many road side cafés and had kofte and tiny lamb kebabs which were beautiful. These meals are served with salad, freshly made bread and Turkish tea. So yummy. We are eating way too much good - it's all so gorgeous.
Arriving at Aqua Fantasy Resort - we can see the Agean sea. It's a huge resort and all inclusive so access to the water park and all food and drink is covered.
The water park was awesome. Alican tackled all but one of the rides (only didn't do one because he cudnt find someone to do it with him). Connor found a set of rides perfect for him and the guy at the got to know him so each time he went up (lost count) he was "Hi Connor ... Chat chat chat ..." Then send him down.
We left as the park closed at 6pm - an awesome treat - thanks Claire.
Drinks and dinner and off to bed as we are off to Ephesus for 8am opening tomorrow so we miss the heat - no shade there!
Plenty of tired bodies after climbing all those stairs, carrying tubes and zooming down water slides.
